The Gorham Prayer Band aims to equip, enable, and encourage church members to pray continually and effectively while making prayer a part of everything they do. The Prayer Band supports the pastor and helps to equip and keeps church members praying faithfully and effectively on an ongoing basis. They carry out and implement the pastor’s goals for the prayer structure and efforts for the church.

The call to prayer is so much more than a liturgical moment at the top of a worship service. It’s the daily responsibility of every believer. The prayer life of your church grows exponentially in proportion to how the prayer life of each individual member grows.

The Prayer Band leads prayers before every worship service. They facilitate the alter for congregational prayer.  On the second Saturday of the month, the Prayer leads corner prayer in the Washington Park Community of Chicago’s Southside.
